The São João Baptista da Foz Fort, also known as São João da Foz Castle, stands in a dominant position on the Douro river bar, defending fluvial access to the city of Porto.

Its seafront promenade, dotted with terraces, bars and gardens by the sea make this area one of the most sought after in Porto, due to its high refinement.

The São Francisco Xavier Fort is located on the Atlantic Ocean and a short distance from the mouth of the Douro River, and is also known as Castelo do Queijo because, according to tradition, it was built on a rounded granite rock, and with a similar to a cheese.

It is the largest urban park in the country, occupying a total of 83 hectares and about 10 km of paths. The park is a sophisticatedly designed landscape, with lakes, varied flora and fauna, integrated into the fabric of the city.

We are going to cross the Douro river towards the bank of V.N.Gaia, using one of the most traditional means of doing this: the boat "Menino do Douro"!

In this fishing village, the stories of those who put their lives at risk, every day, going to the sea to bring the fish were always told!

For many centuries, a river port was located here from which various goods were exported, with special emphasis on Port wine. From here we can enjoy one of the most beautiful views over the city of Porto!

The Luiz I Bridge, is a bridge in metallic structure with two decks, built between the years 1881 and 1888, connecting the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia (north and south bank, respectively). It is one of the icons of the city!
