Silves, close to the river's edge and close to the Roman Bridge is the Municipal Market, where regional agricultural products, fish and seafood are sold. The picturesque streets of the uptown, host some craft shops typical of the region. Near the municipal market is Marisqueira Rui, the most famous restaurant in the city. The seafood restaurant is indicated in any tourist guide, often referred to as the best fish restaurant in the Algarve.
The Capela dos Ossos de Alcantarilha is located on the south side of the 16th century Parish Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, in the historic center of the beautiful parish of Alcantarilha, in the heart of the Algarve. The Capela dos Ossos also dates back to the 16th century, inserted in the same stylistic line as other chapels of the kind existing in the country, such as in Évora, Faro and Lagos
Praia da Boneca or Algarseco
is a set of fascinating rock formations in the village of Carvoeiro. Erosion and the sea have created natural pools, caves, and openings in the rocks that are authentic natural windows and balconies overlooking the sea. It looks like a lunar landscape and is one of the main natural monuments of the Algarve. The limestone cliffs are full of fossils of marine life over 24 million years old, but all the attention is drawn to the landscape.
